Cork Children's Chorus Mission Statement

 

- Cork Children 's Chorus will comprise of 100 children aged between 10 and 17 years from Cork city and county.

- Of this 100 children, 70 children will represent the main chorus while the remaining 30 will be treated as a training chorus.

- These 100 children will be selected by the staff of the Cork Children 's Chorus based on their ability,motivation,attitude,and aptitude as explored in an hour-long workshop /audition.

- Cork Children 's Chorus will meet on a once-weekly basis in a designated rehearsal venue with two hours rehearsal being given to the main chorus and one hour to the training chorus.

- Each session will afford the children vocal training,musical education,social contact and cultural experience.

- These rehearsals will facilitate the necessary repertoire which will allow the children to perform in concert and at civic ceremonies in the short term and become involved in children's opera in the long term.

- Cork Children 's Chorus will promote an equality of access to artistic opportunities among Cork communities.

- The members of the Cork Children 's Chorus will not be subject to fees.

- Cork Children 's Chorus will instead generate its funding through grant assistance, sponsorship and friends ' contributions.

- Cork Children 's Chorus will foster multidisciplinary involvement.

- Cork Children 's Chorus will promote interdisciplinary awareness.

- Cork Children 's Chorus will promote audience regeneration and development.

- Cork Children 's Chorus will develop a personal and professional training programme for its mentors and staff.
